Hello...

Welcome to the Kirklees Wargames Club blog and forum. We are a small group of table-top wargamers who get together weekly to play games which vary from Ancient/Medieval, through English Civil War, American War of Independence, American Civil War, and all things Napoleonic, plus WW2 to Sci-fi and fantasy, using scale-model armies on purpose-built terrain and scenery. We meet at Beaumont Park Visitors Centre, Beaumont Park Road, Huddersfield HD4 7AY on Monday evenings from 6.15pm. New members (over 18) are always welcome. You can just drop in or contact us on: kirkleeswargamesclub@gmail.com. Facebook: Kirklees Wargames Club and Twitter: @KirkleesWC

20mm British M16 Half Track

Bought this Matchbox/Revell vintage M16 kit off ebay, all still sealed in the original box and plastic bags. The box was sepia-toned so I think the kit is older than me.

It's a 1/76 kit, so very slightly smaller than the PSC 1/72 M3/M5 half-tracks. I'd forgotten how fiddly it is fitting the rubber tracks to old-style kits, but they went on fine in the end.

Thanks to Martin for pointing me in the direction of the tank encyclopedia website, it's given me few ideas for US vehicles given to the British under lend-lease. I also hadn't realised that the British gave some Churchills to the Russians under lend-lease. Didn't realise the Russians were so low on heavy tanks......
