Hello...

Welcome to the Kirklees Wargames Club blog and forum. We are a small group of table-top wargamers who get together weekly to play games which vary from Ancient/Medieval, through English Civil War, American War of Independence, American Civil War, and all things Napoleonic, plus WW2 to Sci-fi and fantasy, using scale-model armies on purpose-built terrain and scenery. We meet at Beaumont Park Visitors Centre, Beaumont Park Road, Huddersfield HD4 7AY on Monday evenings from 6.15pm. New members (over 18) are always welcome. You can just drop in or contact us on: kirkleeswargamesclub@gmail.com. Facebook: Kirklees Wargames Club and Twitter: @KirkleesWC

20mm World War II British infantry

So here we have the main core of a British Infantry platoon in 1944 based on the OOB from"Rapid Fire". It consists of 4 teams of 8 men, each one having 1 NCO with a Sten, 5 riflemen and 1 Bren team in each section. The figures are from the Plastic Soldier Company and represent really good value for money, whilst offering a decent level of both sculpt and casting. As with all plastic sets there are 1 or 2 awful figures in odd poses (though nothing compared to the old airfix kits.....dessert rats.....dancing around with your rifle over your head....WTF!) so those figure were excluded. The kit also includes a rather odd amount of radio men (6), medics (3) and casualties (3) which is a bit of a pain.

  Finally to the pictures,
