Hello...

Welcome to the Kirklees Wargames Club blog and forum. We are a small group of table-top wargamers who get together weekly to play games which vary from Ancient/Medieval, through English Civil War, American War of Independence, American Civil War, and all things Napoleonic, plus WW2 to Sci-fi and fantasy, using scale-model armies on purpose-built terrain and scenery. We meet at Beaumont Park Visitors Centre, Beaumont Park Road, Huddersfield HD4 7AY on Monday evenings from 6.15pm. New members (over 18) are always welcome. You can just drop in or contact us on: kirkleeswargamesclub@gmail.com. Facebook: Kirklees Wargames Club and Twitter: @KirkleesWC

20mm British M4A3E2 Jumbo Sherman

These are the Italeri 1/72 quick-build Jumbo Shermans. They take minutes to build.

There's no record of Jumbo's ever being given to the British by the US, but apparently quite a lot of in-the-field experimentation took place around adding extra armour plating, and in some cases even with concrete. The detail of the weld-lines can be seen along the upper-hull edges of the model in the first photo.

The US army mainly used Jumbo's in the advancing column lead-tank role for obvious reasons, and a high percentage were destroyed in combat because of this.

Hi Guy looks good using the 'large' on image size edit. Stay safe Rupe

You're right Rupe, the photos default to XL, so as you pointed out, you have to change the size yourself for each photo, takes seconds.
