Hello...

Welcome to the Kirklees Wargames Club blog and forum. We are a small group of table-top wargamers who get together weekly to play games which vary from Ancient/Medieval, through English Civil War, American War of Independence, American Civil War, and all things Napoleonic, plus WW2 to Sci-fi and fantasy, using scale-model armies on purpose-built terrain and scenery. We meet at Beaumont Park Visitors Centre, Beaumont Park Road, Huddersfield HD4 7AY on Monday evenings from 6.15pm. New members (over 18) are always welcome. 20mm British A34 Comet

This is the Revell / Matchbox 1/76 British A34 Comet tank kit. Although the kit is supposed to be 1/76, it's actually come out the same size as the 1/72 PSC and Armourfast Cromwells, so it fits in well.

A nice kit to build, and the tracks are made of stretchy rubber, so easy to fit. I've added an extra box to the rear of the turret as there should be an infantry phone box (so tank-riders could talk directly to the tank commander), a first aid box, and smoke dischargers, but they weren't included in the kit.

The Comet was deployed into combat in November 1944, and over 1,100 were made before the end of WW2.

You're not wrong Rupe, I'm just fiddling at the edges now, but I keep coming across the odd kit I quite fancy. Hope you and your family are all well.

Looks a bit of a beast Guy, have you just got one? Regards Steve.

Just the one Steve, it'll do a similar job to a Firefly as part of a troop of three tanks (the other two being Cromwells). You can see the origins of the Centurion can't you.
