British and German forces, equally matched, clash at a village with a railway station.
Both sides pushed right up to the railway line with infantry (in fact the Germans got across for a short time), whilst leaving the armour a little further back to fire at each other at longer range.
Result was a British victory, losing one Sherman at a cost of 5 points (pulled from Norm's sweaty-sock token-holder) to the Germans losing two Pz4's, a Marder, a half-track, and one or two sections of infantry, at a cost of 19 points.
Highlights:
- Considering the four players (Germans were Adrian and Norman, British were Ray and Guy) weren't totally au-fait with the rules, it clicked along at a fair old pace. It appears we have two different versions of the rules in use too.
- The lone Sherman was lost to a panzerfaust, these infantry weapons are everywhere and deadly.
- The Marder was picked off at long-range by a Churchill of all tanks, armed with an old 75mm pea-shooter.
- The Pz4's were lost to medium-range fire from a Sherman and a Churchill.
- On balance, the British threw luckier dice.
Thanks to Norman for organising the whole game.
A very quiet night at the Club, only this one game being played.

Norman did express that the British did not take control of the field by game end!
